Weld Mold® 880


A “Universal” super-strength chrome/nickel alloy. Welds are dense, crack-desensitized and resistant to heat and corrosion. High yield strength, excellent ductility and elongaton. Used to join carbon, stainless, spring, manganese, tool and die steels and numerous dissimilar alloys.

Weld Mold ® 888


Its unique composition of super-strength chrome/nickel will respond to almost all tool-steel heat treatments and retain its superior mechanical properties. Deposits are dense, non-porous, smooth, crack-desensitized and resistant to corrosion and heat-scaling up to 1,200 Deg. F. Uses include the joining and repair of cracked or fractured tools, dies and fixtures. Also for anti-frictional surfaces on valves, bearings and shafts.

Weld Mold® 919


A nickel/chrome/moly alloy for welding wrought and cast AISI 4340 components where the weld metal must be of the same composition as the base metal.

Weld Mold ® 920


A chrome/nickel/moly alloy for joining 100,000-tensile steel. An excellent buildup or joining material on wrought, cast and forged AISI 8620 components. It is readily machinable and heat treatment should be dictated by the 8620 procedures. Uses include the joining of low-alloy steels, pipe and pressure vessels.

Weld Mold® 9210-T


For welding AISI P-20. A high-quality drawn wire of chrome/moly/mold steel designed to match the wear and polishing qualities of most injection-mold steels. Deposits are dense, tough and readily machined.

Weld Mold ® 9211-T


Commonly used on cast steels, boilerplates, 1% Cr – .5% Mo Creep resistant steels, quench and tempered steels, case hardening steels as well as corrosion resistance steels such as Core10. Occasionally used on Mold steels in less sever applications as an economical alternative to P-20.

Weld Mold® 922


For welding flame-hardening AISI 4130 steel. A chrome/moly alloy for buildup or reclamation of dies, forgings and castings and for joining thin sections of 4130 steel when specific properties and chemistry must be maintained. Pre and post heat treatment is recommended.

Weld Mold ® 923


A chrome/vanadium, flame-hardenable alloy for buildup and repair of AISI 6150 steel with good resistance to abrasion and compression. Primary applications are the repair and reclamation of AISI 6150 forgings, castings and dies.

Weld Mold ® 925


A carbon/vanadium alloy for welding AISI W-1 through W-5 water-hardening tool steel. A titania-coated electrode or bare rod that provides a fine-grained deposit for the most delicate and exacting work. Used for the repair of cold-working shears, trimmers, punches and dies.

Weld Mold® 927


A chrome/moly alloy for buildup or reclamation of AISI 4140 steel dies, forgings and castings and for joining thin sections of 4140 steel when specific properties and chemistry must be maintained. Pre and post heat-treatment is recommended.

Weld Mold® 935


For welding AISI 0-1 through 0-6 oil hardening steel. Provides a deposit that is hard as-welded, fine grained and completely heat-treatable. Uses include the repair and reclamation of blanking, forming and trim dies.

Weld Mold ® 937


For welding AISI A-2 through A-6 air-hardening tool steels and upgrading wear areas on lower alloys. Deposits are hard as-welded, fine grained and completely heat-treatable. Uses include the repair and reclamation of extrusion, blanking, coining and forming dies.

Weld Mold® 938


For the welding, repair and reclamation of high-carbon, high-chromium AISI D-2 air-hardening tool steels, preferably in the annealed condition. Uses include the reclamation of blanking, forming and drawing dies. Also for cold-working punches, trimmers and slitting knives.

Weld Mold ® 943


For the repair and reclamation of AISI S-Series shock-resisting tool steels (especially AISI S-7). Particularly suited for cold-working applications and for the composite fabrication of blanking, trimmer, header and brake dies.

Weld Mold® 954


A low-carbon chrome/moly/tungsten machinable hot work alloy with very good thermal fatigue resistance. Used to repair or reclaim damaged and worn dies where heat checking due to water cooling is a problem and where machining in the as-welded condition is necessary. This alloy is available in a softer version (Weld Mold® 953) and in a slightly harder and more wear-resistant version (Weld Mold® 954-N). Uses include the repair of upsetter, press, hammer and insert forging dies. Also all AISI H-Series tool steels, where as-welded machinability is required.

Weld Mold ® 956


Weld Mold 956 is an enriched version of Weld Mold 954. This is a low carbon, chromium type hot work steel. Weld Mold 956 exhibits excellent machinability, toughness, and thermal shock and wear resistance.

Weld Mold® 958


For the repair and reclamation of AISI H-12 hot-work tool steel. A chrome/moly/tungsten/vanadium alloy which resists wear, shock, heat checking and erosion at high temperatures. Excellent cold-working properties and uniform heat-treatment response. Water spray coolants should be avoided. This alloy is also available in a titania-coated version for superior re-strike and AC operation as Weld Mold® 957.

Weld Mold ® 9580


A superior 5% chrome/tungsten-enriched alloy. Used to upgrade standard AISI H-12 tool steel for extra-tough welds in hot and cold working applications. Excellent for composite tool applications such as hot shear blades, punches and automotive forming or blanking dies and trim sections for material up to 1/4″ thick. This alloy is also available with a titania coating for superior re-strike and AC operation as Weld Mold® 9570.

Weld Mold® 959


For the repair and reclamation of AISI H-13 hot work tool steel. It is a tungsten-free 5% chrome/moly alloy used on hot-work tool and dies that are subject to heat checking, especially when water-based coolants are used. Uses include the repair and overlay of aluminum, zinc and magnesium die-casting dies, press-forging dies and inserts.

Weld Mold ® 960


A tungsten-rich chromium AISI H-21 hot-work tool steel designed to withstand extreme heat, high abrasion and shock. Uses include hot header dies, woodworking router bits and extrusion components.

Weld Mold® 964


A highly wear-resistant alloy for hot-work applications such as overlays on aluminum die cast dies and open forging dies used for titanium and other unyielding exotic alloys. Production increases of up to 300% more than original die blocks have been reported. Double tempering is strongly recommended.

Weld Mold ® 9650


A medium-carbon chrome/nickel/moly wear-resistant alloy for standard and high-energy forging dies. Deposits shock-resistant, extra-high-performance weld metal that reaches maximum hardness as deposited and is highly resistant to heat-checking, corrosion and wear.

Weld Mold® 966


A high-quality, finely drawn, 8% molybdenum, high speed alloy used for the repair and reclamation of AISI M-1 and M-2 high-speed tool steel. It retains maximum hardness up to operating temperatures of 1,100 Deg. F., along with good wear and abrasion resistance. Typical applications include repair of broaches, drills, and piercing, blanking and trimming dies. Double tempering is strongly recommended.

Weld Mold ® 9770


A premium alloy for welding maraging 250 and 300 tool steels. As-welded hardness permits machining prior to maraging (age-hardening). Used primarily on high-wear areas of aluminum and zinc die-casting components.

Weld Mold ® 9771


Maraging grade 300. Very similar to Maraging 250 (Weld Mold 9770) however grade 300 will register about three points higher on the Rockwell C scale.
