Weld Mold® 4061
Weld Mold 4061 is a high nickel copper alloy for joining dissimilar metals or metals of similar composition. The weld deposit exhibits good corrosion resistance, especially in alkali environments.
Applications
Weld Mold 4061 is for welding 200 and 201 nickels. 4061 is also used for welding cast iron and build-up on steels. Weld Mold 4061 will join many dissimilar combinations such as high nickel to stainless steels, Inconel®, carbon steels and Incoloy® alloys, Monel® and copper-nickel alloys.
Procedure
Remove all defects and surface contaminants. Pre-heat will be dictated by the base metals being welded. Multi-layer build-upsold welds, cracks, fatigue metal and base materials from surface. Pre-heat is not required except when welding alloy steels. Multi-layer build-ups are acceptable.
