Weld Mold® 4718-C
Weld Mold 4718 is used primarily for the welding of inconel® 706, 718 and X750.
Applications
4625 is used for overlaying of steel, welding various nickel base alloys, and is also useful for welding Inconel® to Inconel® and stainless to carbon steel as well as high strength aircraft components and critical weldments involving cryogenic applications.
Procedure
Weldability improves when the base material is pre-heated 700º to 800ºF. Solution treat -1800ºF 1 hour/inch thickness. Age harden – 1325ºF. 8 hours. Furnace cool, 100ºF per hour to 1150ºF, hold for 8 hours then air-cool to ambient.
