Weld Mold® 641
A nickel-base hard-surfacing alloy with the addition of boron. A low coefficient of friction provides great metal to metal wear. Will maintain hardness up to 1200ºF. with excellent corrosion resistance.
Applications
Weld Mold 641-T is used for high abrasive areas such as sleeves, bushings, mill guides, cams, draw blocks, value components and shafts. Used where a torch rod is requested for high abrasive and moderate impact situations. After heating to an orange glow, material can be formed or moved.
Procedure
Can be used with TIG straight polarity or oxyacetylene welding. Base metal pre-heated to a “sweat” using a slightly carburizing flame (2 x feather). Material will flow freely when brought into the torch flame.
