Weld Mold® 676
High molybdenum, cobalt, nickel base alloy used for wearfacing and corrosion resistant applications. Designed primarily for high corrosion resistance and wearfacing applications in the chemical industry. The deposit has excellent high temperature strength and resistance to corrosion and is readily machinable.
Applications
Agitators, heating and cooling coils, pump parts, and valves are prime examples. Resists HC1 and boiling H3 PO4. At least two passes required for wearfacing applications. Performs best in flat position.
Procedure
Adjust the amperage according to the base metal thickness. Remove all foreign material, fatigued metal, and any sharp radii. Pre-heat and post-heat will be dictated by the base metal chemistry, the type of weld, and the amount of deposit.
