Weld Mold® 755
A specially alloyed copper-nickel product that produces porosity free weld deposits on low grade cast iron castings and patterns. Weldments can be machined through the heat affected zone.
Applications
Excellent for repairing all types of cast iron parts such as molds, castings, and patterns when a close color match is required. Weld Mold 755 can also be used as a first layer on high sulfur steels.
Procedure
Remove all foreign material, fatigued metal and any sharp radii. Preheat and post-heat will be dictated by the base metal chemistry, joint design, and the amount of deposit. A minimum of 500°F pre-heat should be used when welding on cast iron. Peening is essential and must be done immediately after the weld metal is deposited
