Weld Mold® 9763
Weld Mold 9763 is a flux core wire requiring no shielding gas and producing a tough, complex chrome carbide crack-resistant deposit containing a high percentage of extremely hard, finely dispersed titanium carbides for abrasion resistance. Designed for use in surfacing carbon steel, low alloy steel, and 12-14% Hadfield manganese based materials.
Applications
Typical applications include; augers, dredge pump parts, fan blades, pub mill paddles, tampers, hammer mill hammers, bucket teeth and lips, scraper blades, asphalt mixer paddles, muller tires and dredge bucket lips.
Procedure
Remove all defects and surface contaminants. Pre-heat will be dictated by the base metal. Use slight weave or stringer beads. Maximum of 3 passes are allowed. Use of a shielding gas can be used to improve welding characteristics.
SMAW - DC+
