Weld Mold® 9764
Weld Mold 9764 is a complex chrome carbide alloy producing a combination of large chrome carbides and small, fine niobium carbides in an austenitic/eutectic carbide mixture. Designed for surfacing carbon steels, low alloy steels and manganese steels with a high impact resistant weld deposit, thickness is limited to 3 layers.
Applications
Weld mold 9764 is used on wear plates, shovel bucket teeth, muller tires, expeller screws, coal screens, dredge bucket lips, wheel excavator teeth and crusher roll paddles, as well as many other things.
Operational Characteristics
- Operates over a wide amperage range using DC+
- Spatter level is low and slag removal is minimal and easily removed.
- • Deposit thickness should not exceed 3/8” in 2 or 3 layers
Typical Properties
- Hardness: 60-65 AWRc
- Machinability: Grind Only
- Can not be flame cut
- Maximum 3/8” or 2-3 layers
