Polychamfer® 100
A fast economical all position metal working electrode that does not require any special equipment other than standard welding machines. Specially formulated coatings concentrate the voltage force at the point of application. This expedites the removal of metals that are normally difficult to torch cut, such as cast iron, stainless steel, and high alloys.
Applications
Use for chamfering, beveling and gouging of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Examples include: weld preparations, implementing engineering changes, removal of old welds, cracks, frozen bushings and pins, and the flash and risers on castings.
Procedure
Use AC or DC, straight polarity with a high amperage setting. Electrode should be pointing in direction of travel, at an angle between approximately 7º and 15º to the work piece. Initiate the arc and move in a forward motion along the area to be removed. Repeat operation to obtain desired depth. Polychamfer® cuts a groove the width of the outside diameter of the electrode and leaves a clean path.
